STORYLINE:

More than 60 people were injured Sunday evening in a drone attack on the town of Binyamina in northern Israel, Israeli hospitals reported.

Eli Bin, director-general of Magen David Adom rescue service, told reporters that three of the injured were in critical condition. Five victims sustained severe but not critical injuries, and the remaining individuals suffered light to moderate wounds.

Helicopters and ambulances were dispatched to evacuate the injured from Binyamina, which is located on the Carmel coast between Haifa and Tel Aviv.

The Israel Defense Forces said that no air raid siren was activated before the attack, adding that the incident is under investigation.

The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, issuing a statement that it had used a squadron of drones to strike a Golani Brigade training base.
