Droughts impact the Amazon Rainforest forcing locals to adapt to rapidly changing climate conditions.
During the dry season in the Amazon Rainforest, locals are forced to travel by foot throughout the region. Due to climate change, the dry season happens for longer periods of time, at a higher level of intensity. Tributaries that serve as critical vessels to transport food and other essentials, are now being cut off for extended periods of time due to these prolonged droughts.
In this video, we capture glimpses of how much these rivers can dry up during the dry season in the Amazon, and how drastically the landscape changes as a result.
Filmed by Noah Beilin (29) using the GH5.
