Snake caught under bed in family's home
A rat snake slithered into a family's bedroom and hid under the mattress.
Footage shows the serpent being searched by two animal rescuers before they found it tucked on the side of the foam on the wall in Ayutthaya province, Thailand, on October 6.
A calm female volunteer pulled the 6.6ft (2 metres) reptile with bare hands and carried it out of the house with her partner.
They placed it in a sack and it was taken to their facility to be released later.
House owner Thawatchai Watthanapan, 32, said: ‘I left the bedroom door open and when I entered the room the snake slithered past me. I ran out and closed the door before calling for help.'
The serpent was unharmed and evacuated from the home.
Rat snakes are commonly found throughout Thailand and are known for preying on rodents, which is how they earned the name.
