Rear rotor of helicopter hits ground causing fire that left two people injured
A helicopter's rear rotor struck the ground, causing a fire and leaving two people injured.
Footage shows a huge plume of smoke rising from the incident.
The Dalian Jinpu New Area Emergency Bureau reported that the incident occurred near Xiaoyawan Park in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China, on October 9, around 11:40 am.
Officials stated that the helicopter was returning from a seasonal forestry protection mission when the rear rotating blades collided with the ground, igniting a blaze.
Three people were on board; one was reportedly uninjured, while two were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The fire was extinguished by 12:10 pm.
Preliminary investigations indicate that pilot error may have contributed to the incident. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation.
