US, Los Angeles: Vernon Possible Vehicle Struck by Gunfire on 5 Freeway

10/14/2024 12:00 am (GMT-0700) | VERNON, Calif. – Initial reports indicate California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a possible shooting on the 5 Freeway near Ditman Avenue after a truck was discovered with a shattered rear driver's side window early Monday morning.
The driver of the vehicle drove to a location on East 52nd Drive and contacted authorities.
A tow truck carrying a vehicle was spotted in the area, though its connection to the incident remains unclear. CHP has not yet confirmed if the shooting occurred on the freeway. The investigation is ongoing.
Officers were seen searching inside the truck. KNN video shows a car seat near the shattered rear window.
