Man tackled to ground after attempting to steal spotlight from 1st-placed marathon runner in China
On October 13, during a half-marathon in Xunyi County, Shaanxi, a man dressed in red suddenly jumped from the spectators and ran alongside a runner who was sprinting towards the finish line, attempting to steal the spotlight and cause a disturbance. Event staff quickly reacted and tackled the man.
According to the Xunyi County Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the man was trying to grab attention and gain online views by appearing on camera. The staff reprimanded him on the spot, and his actions did not affect the race results.
