Curious pet meerkats scampered across roofs of homes to explore their neighbourhood.

Clover and Supreme, aged one-year-old and eight-months-old, climbed out of the bedroom window so they could survey the surroundings in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 4.

Footage shows the tiny mongooses sniffing the metal roof sheets and running back to their owner Zaki Vazabi when she called them.

They then played on Zaki's bed and snuggled with her.

Zaki said: 'I have been taking care of them since they were a baby and it was challenging.

'You have to understand their behaviour, what they eat, what their habits are. It is so much different from raising cats or dogs.

'They are clingy and very attached to me but they can also be mischievous, stubborn, and curious about everything.'

Meerkats are small, social mammals belonging to the mongoose family. They are primarily found in southern Africa and are known for their distinctive upright posture, which they adopt to watch for predators while foraging.

They are also known for their exploratory behaviour, as they often venture out in groups to search for food, assess their environment, and look out for predators.
