A team of rescuers saved two stranded climbers in Indonesia.

Footage shows authorities conducting a dramatic rescue operation for the hikers at Post 6 on Gandang Dewata Mountain in Mamasa District, West Sulawesi, on October 14.

Local media reported that the mountaineers, Taufiq Abubakar and Jhiwar Julnaintin, were forced to stay on the difficult route because Taufiq was experiencing difficulties related to haemorrhoids.

Officials said that initially eight climbers had reported to the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Mamasa Regency, scheduled to travel to Mount Gandang Dewata from October 5 to 12.

However, only six climbers returned from the hike, informing authorities that one of their colleagues was distressed and needed assistance.

Five joint teams from Basarnas, BPBD, TNI, Polhut, and health workers were deployed to evacuate the victims, with the first group providing first aid and logistical support.

Authorities reported that the two climbers were rushed to the nearest hospital.
