This is the shocking moment a truck driver taking a nap wakes up to a find huge python slithering across him in India.

Footage shows the worker, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, sitting in a dimly lit area near some shrubs in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, on October 13.

The non-venomous serpent was seen wrapping itself around his neck, with part of its body resting on his lap.

Local media reported that concerned residents spotted the danger and safely removed the python from him. They were careful to prevent the snake from suffering any injuries and the truck driver was also unharmed.

Pythons are among the world's largest snakes known for their constricting abilities. They are non-venomous and typically subdue their prey by wrapping around and squeezing it. They can prey on a variety of animals, including humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats, and other snakes.

Last month, a drunk Chinese man was seen wrestling a huge python on the street in China.

Footage showed the shirtless local with his arms apparently ensnared by the 8ft snake in Huizhou City, Guangdong province, on September 28. He tried bashing the reptile on the pavement but failed to loosen its death grip.

Firefighters and police later arrived and pried the 30lb serpent off of him before it could squeeze him to death. They bagged it in a sack and released it into a secluded part of the mountains.
