Turkey: Man Stabs Police Officer In Neck From Behind Before Running Away

The shocking footage captures a man attacking a police officer from behind and stabbing him in the neck before fleeing the scene.
The attacker, identified as Oytun Ilgaz, was apprehended after attacking the officer stationed on patrol at a fixed point at around 10:50am on Istiklal Street in Beyoglu, Istanbul Province, Turkey, on 12th October.
Surveillance camera footage shows the moment Ilgaz approaches the officer from behind, brutally stabbing him in the neck before running away.
As the officer struggles to stand, another cop rushes to his aid, calling for an ambulance while offering support.
Upon arriving at the scene, medical teams swiftly transported him to the hospital, where he received urgent care.
According to the media, he was discharged after medics stabilised his condition. Police did not disclose what prompted Ilgaz to carry out the attack.
