A stray dog ran across a football field and interrupted a match.

The pooch climbed over the rails from the stands and sprinted to the player's bench area during a King's Cup soccer game in Songkhla province, Thailand, on October 11.

It prompted a chase with dozens of athletes and coaches, but was agile and somehow crossed the barriers to enter the field.

Footage shows the furry pitch invader dashing across the playing field. It was eventually caught and remained under the care of the Songkhla FC Club team.

It was named Mah Deng, which means Bouncy Dog in Thai. The team launched merchandise for the pooch to raise funds to provide it with food and a home.

Dogs are popular pets in Thailand, and many Thais consider them loyal family members.
