Pickup truck carrying hay bales SHUNTS motorcycle rider off the road
A pickup truck loaded with bales of hay shunted a motorcycle rider off the road.
The truck with the heavy cargo was being pursued by a shirtless motorbike rider when the crash happened in Ayutthaya City, Thailand, on October 10.
It swerved to the left lane to avoid the motorist when he squeezed through his side. However, the two-wheeler weaved to the front, blocking the road.
The defiant truck driver accelerated, forcing the local to move to the side. They veered across two lanes before the four-wheeler side-swiped the motorcycle.
Dashcam footage that recorded the road rage shows the pickup truck swiftly shifting to the right, knocking over the two-wheeler. The motorbike rider was thrown off his vehicle before it rolled down the ditch while the car continued on its way.
He quickly stood up despite crashing and appeared to sustain no serious injuries.
Despite being one of the wealthiest countries in Asia, Thailand suffers from chronic underinvestment in its highways and education, contributing to its poor road safety levels. Only a handful of African countries are worse.
Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
