Russia: Russia's First Giant Panda Cub Plays With Favourite Toy In Enclosure
Moscow, Russia - October 9, 2024
The adorable video shows Russia's first giant panda cub playing with its favourite toy to the delight of zookeepers recording her.
Captured at Moscow Zoo, Russia, on 9th October, the footage reveals the playful cub enjoying her playtime, joyfully biting and holding onto the toy as she navigates through her enclosure.
The cub, named Katyusha, can be seen playfully teasing the zookeeper and trying to lure them into playing with her. Meanwhile, her mother can be seen sitting nearby and having a midday snack.
Katyusha, born in August 2023 to parents Zhui and Ding Ding, was the first giant panda cub ever to be delivered in the country.
Akulova announced the zoo's plans to reunite the parents in 2026 for a second mating attempt.
Pandas Zhui and Ding Ding came to the Moscow Zoo in 2019 in honour of the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Russia and China.
The staff spent several months training in a Chinese nursery to learn how to care for pandas properly.
