Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi received visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday.
Safadi and Araghchi discussed bilateral issues and efforts to end the dangerous escalation in the region.
The two ministers agreed to launch a dialogue to address all bilateral issues, leading to the development of relations based on mutual respect, non-interference in internal affairs, and cooperation.
Safadi stressed the priority of stopping the Israeli aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank and Islamic and Christian holy sites, saying it's the first step towards reducing escalation and restoring stability in the region.
Araghchi also met with King Abdullah II of Jordan.
King Abdullah also stressed the need to stop the Israeli war on Gaza and Lebanon as a first step towards comprehensive calm, warning that the continued killing and destruction will keep the region hostage to violence and the expansion of the conflict.
