STORYLINE:
A cold chain truck carrying fresh Vietnamese coconuts cleared customs on Tuesday and entered China through Hekou Port in southwest China's Yunnan Province.
This is the first land-based import of fresh coconuts from Vietnam into China.
It is seen as a move to enhance the high-quality trade cooperation between China and Vietnam.

"It took only two to three days for this batch of fresh coconuts to be picked from trees and transported to the port. Customs inspection and clearance procedures were completed in less than 20 minutes. After passing through the Hekou Port, they will be transported to a distribution center in Kunming and sold to various places."

"We reviewed the key procedures for Vietnamese fresh coconuts import in advance, assigning dedicated personnel at each stage of the customs clearance process. After the goods arrive, we'll give priority to on-site inspections and strictly check the goods and documents. After inspection and quarantine, priority will be given to issuing certificates to help Vietnamese fresh coconuts be put on the market first."
