In a startling incident in northeastern India’s Assam, a herd of elephants created chaos by invading a residential area late at night.

The incident took place in the Goronga Pothar area of the Golaghat district on October 16.

Visuals showed the pandemonium as locals waved torches, illuminating the road flanked by open fields. Residents were seen screaming in a desperate attempt to shoo away the elephants. After considerable effort, the locals successfully guided the elephants away, capturing footage of the massive animals swiftly moving across the road.

According to reports, the intrusion caused significant panic among the residents, who feared for their safety. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the swift action of the locals prevented potential damage to property as the elephants retreated into the wilderness.
