Traditional Filipino dance wows crowd
This is the impressive moment students performed a traditional Filipino dance, leaving the crowd in awe.
Roselyn Layoc balanced thirteen pots of various sizes, made from fiberglass, during the Banga Salidsid, a Kalinga cultural dance, at a university theatre event for the Manila International Dance Festival in Manila, the Philippines, on September 28.
Footage shows the performer moving gracefully with the containers stacked on her head, while men in traditional clothing can be seen in the background.
Moments later, during the performance, Roselyn nearly lost her balance and ran towards the backstage to control the pots on top of her head.
SEA Heritage and History said that the dance portrays the elegant grace of a tribe otherwise known as fierce warriors.
'Stacked heavy earthen pots are balanced on the heads of maidens as they move to the beat of the gangsa or wind chimes, showing their stamina and strength as they perform the daily task of fetching water and balancing the pots,' they added.
