This is the amusing moment a pair of French Bulldogs had a tug-of-war over a garden hosepipe.

Panchita Wangnak witnessed the energetic duo - Kapraw, the one-year-old bi-coloured bulldog, and its nine-month-old companion, Kati - playing with the water hose in Phitsanulok, Thailand, on October 12.

Footage shows the canines tugging at the blue, flexible tube emitting water. Both dogs pulled hard, with Kati attempting to run away with it, however, Kapraw refused to let go of their makeshift 'toy.'

Moments later, the Frenchies paused, one lying on the wet floor while the other stood, both still gripping the hose in their mouths.

Panchita said: 'They love to play, and they are inseparable. Kati and Kapraw are always together.'

French Bulldogs are known to be lively, playful, and quirky. TomKings Puppies, a French Bulldog breeding organization, said that Frenchies love interactive play with their companions, and engaging in playful tug-of-war helps strengthen their bond.

The game has unknown origins. However, some records suggest it was played in ancient Greece, India, Egypt, and China. It became an Olympic event for 20 years in the 1900s, with five men on each side, the goal being to move as one and tug the rope to their side.
