Boy, three, youngest Donald Trump fan - and he even does impressions
Meet Donald Trump's youngest supporter who dresses and even does impressions of the former President.
Harry Ernst, a three-year-old preschooler from Tega Cay, South Carolina, supports Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
Molly, 41, a stay-at-home mom, recalls the lighthearted moment when Harry first began mimicking Trump.
"We are pretty open with our children about talking about politics at the house," Molly says. "
"One night, we styled Harry's hair more like Donald Trump's, and he started marching around the house. "
''There was something about the way he was swinging his fist that made us all laugh. It kind of looked like the way Donald Trump walks."
"Donald Trump is in charge," Harry says with a laugh. On whether he's going to vote for Trump in the upcoming election, he responded, "Yeah!"
Molly says that Harry has taken to "marching" around their home in a red tie, declaring "I'm Donald Trump" and making what she calls a "tough face," trying to imitate the former president's expressions. "
"Mostly, he enjoys marching around the house, making little fists, and announcing that he's Donald Trump," Molly adds."
While Harry's imitation of Trump might be playful, his family's discussions about politics are more serious.
Molly explains that they keep their older children — ages 17, 14, 11, and eight — informed about political events, even watching the debates as a family.
"Harry's picked up on certain characteristics from seeing the candidates on TV and from hearing our household conversations," Molly explains."
Both Molly and her husband, Nathan, tend to vote conservatively and are leaning Republican in the 2024 election.
Nathan, 42, is a full-time pilot with American Airlines and served for 24 years as a Blackhawk medevac pilot in the Army National Guard.
The Ernst family has been feeling the effects of inflation, which has taken a toll on their finances. "As a family of seven, we've watched our grocery bill skyrocket over the last four years," Molly shares."
As for Harry's plans for Halloween, Molly isn't sure whether he'll continue his Trump impersonation for the holiday. "I have a feeling his firefighter costume might beat out Donald Trump on October 31st," she says. "But we're open to it."
The Ernst family has embraced the current election, using it as a teaching moment for their children.
Molly says "we're having fun with it," adding, "We're just teaching our kids about what's happening in this current season."
