This is the amusing moment a pedestrian tried to climb over a car park barrier - only for it to lift her up and pin her against a wall.

The hapless local woman narrowly escaped injury when she attempted to cross into another area by climbing across the gate railings in Jiangxi, China on October 12.

Footage shows her scrambling over the electronic gate in a residential complex.

After several attempts, she finally managed to scale the barricade. However, just as she was about to cross over, the barrier unexpectedly rose, nearly causing a serious accident.

Local media reported that the incident occurred because a young girl used the facial recognition system to enter the community, triggering the gate to rise, which left the woman briefly suspended against the wall.

She was reportedly uninjured and was able to free herself shortly afterwards when the barrier lowered again.
