STORYLINE:
An event celebrating the 60th anniversary of Lake Burley Griffin was held on Saturday in Canberra, the Australian capital.
During the event, the National Zoo and Aquarium brought snakes and lizards for the public to interact with.
Lake Burley Griffin is a shallow artificial lake in the Molonglo River valley, named after the winner of the design competition for the national capital.
The lake was completed in 1963 and officially opened to the public in 1964.
