Four people died in a plane crash in Gorontalo, Indonesia which crashed into a fish pond.
Pioneer aircraft owned by PT. SAM Air with registration number PK-SMH (DHC6) crashed at Panua Airport, Pohuwato district, Gorotalo province, Indonesia on Sunday 20 October 2024.
The plane serves the route from Djalaluddin Airport, Gorontalo, to Panua Airport, Pohuwato.
The SAM Air plane crashed in the airport area of Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province. A total of four people died in the incident.
The aircraft belongs to the airline PT Semuwa Aviasi Mandiri (SAM Air), a Twin Otter type with a capacity of 19 passengers.
The cause of the plane crash is not yet known, but four people reportedly died in the incident and were rushed to the Randangan Community Health Center, Pohuwato.
"It crashed around the Pohuwato airport area. Four people on the plane died," said Head of the Gorontalo Search and Rescue Office, Heriyanto, Sunday, October 20 2024.
The victims who died were Captain M. Saefu Rubi (pilot), M. Artur F.G. (copilot), Budi Janto (technician), and Sri Mayke Male (passenger). The four deceased victims have been evacuated to the Randangan Community Health Center.
