STORYLINE:

The 2024 China Baigou International Bags and Suitcases Expo concluded on Sunday in the Baigou new area, north China's Hebei Province.

The three-day expo drew more than 2,000 industry insiders from over 20 countries and regions. 

Baigou is one of China's largest bag production and marketing bases, accounting for about 28 percent of the country's domestic market.

Selling products to 195 countries and regions in the world, the small town is particularly popular among traders from Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

"It was amazing. It's my first time to come to this city, to discover this city, also to discover this exhibition. I was focusing on some models, some products like bags, women's bags and kids' bags. Algeria is the largest country in Africa. It's the biggest one. So we have a lot of markets, new markets, and we are looking forward in the future to making cooperation with these suppliers, to making their factories in my country."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): MUHAMMAD HARIS, Pakistani purchaser 
"I'm from Pakistan and I have been in China for over 10 years. I often come to Baigou to buy goods, for about five or six times a year. This morning, I've ordered some backpacks made of composite fabrics, including four models, about 1,000 for each model."
