STORYLINE:

The main event of the 2024 Erhai Forum on Global Ecological Civilization Construction was held in Dali, southwest China's Yunnan Province on Saturday.

Themed "Working together to promote eco-friendly modernization," the forum attracted nearly 300 guests both from home and abroad.

"I think it (Dali) is a really beautiful city, both structurally, as it's built on the man-made structures and its natural beauty. I think that man has to be in harmony with nature for both of us to survive. A lot of things I see around here, like the development of the lake and some other things, are a great step in that direction."

"It is very, very important because there are challenges for the future of mankind. Human beings have done a lot of things in terms of improvement of lifestyle. But now it's time to pay attention as well to nature, to the water, because we drink water, water is life. So, if we destroy water, we destroy ourselves. There is no development without nature because the first resources we receive are from nature."

"China is taking very important steps to make the Chinese nation a more ecological nation. We can see these vast campaigns for reforestation.
