A woman says trolls call her "selfish" for being a DINK - but parents are worse for having children in world with 'climate change and police brutality '."

Amber Guttilla, 30, makes a six-figure salary on her own, before combining it with her fiance's, Bryce, 32.

She says she wants to "decentre" her life goals from motherhood - and her life's purpose isn't providing for "little humans"."

After taking inspiration from one of her high school teachers, Amber uses her spare income and time to travel, furnish her home, and set her own daily routine.

She also doesn't mind being called "selfish" for not wanting kids - and insists people could be labelled "selfish" for having children "in this day-and-age." "

Amber, the head of content at a tech company, from Los Angeles, said: "I recognise that this lifestyle would probably be labelled ‘selfish' - and okay, I'm fine with being selfish. "

"I would argue there are people having kids right now who would be classed as selfish. "

"I look around at things like climate change, police brutality and school shootings. "

"I'm like: ‘do I want to bring life into a world which doesn't favour taking care of its people?'"

"But also, I just don't feel any FOMO or a deep maternal need."

Amber says she felt like having kids was what she was "supposed" to do - even from being a kid herself. "

But, in 2012, as a senior in high school, she says one of her teachers taught her not to think this way.

At 29, the teacher had no intention of having babies, and wanted to spend her time travelling and "doing her own thing."

"She and her husband had been together a while," Amber added. "

"We'd always be like: ‘When are you thinking of having a baby?' "

"Once she said, ‘actually, no. We don't see kids fitting into our lives.' "

"I was like: ‘That's crazy - why else would you get married?'"

"But the more I thought about it, I imagined my life's purpose being more than just about providing for these little creatures."

After meeting Bryce in YEAR, the couple realised neither of them wanted to have kids SOON AFTER.

Amber says life became "even better" - they could get up, go to bed, and spend the day however they wanted. "

She says being able to drop everything to go travelling, without the commitment of finding a babysitter, has been "ideal."

"Life just got so good," she said."

"I couldn't imagine ever giving any of this up."

"I saw this comedian's stand-up show, and he was talking about his perfect day, without the kids. "

"He said it would be all about getting up when he wanted and going for late brunches - I get to live that every day!"

At 30, Amber recognises a lot of her friends are starting to fall pregnant.

She says she couldn't imagine the financial implications of having a baby - after seeing a friend pay so much.

"I have a friend who's pregnant now, and she's already looking at pre-schools," she added. "

"She's putting deposits down for pre-schools, already, for her unborn child. "

"Using that money, I could put a down-payment on a car. "

"Any money we make, we get to choose how we spend it - and that's the best part about DINK life."

Amber is even setting money aside for her retirement fund, so she won't need to rely on people to look after her when she gets older.

Her goal is to set up her own "cushy" retired life, in residency with her fiancé."

She says retired people with children may be some of the loneliest people - and she likes removing the expectation of people coming to visit her.

"People retired with children are actually the loneliest ones," she said. "

"Their adult children have their own lives, so can't be expected to visit, all the time. "

"I can imagine that would be pretty heartbreaking. "

"I'm hoping my working life continues to remain successful, so I can set up my cushy retirement life. "

"Then, all I'll need to focus on is being in the old folks' home with my fiance."
