An Indian man revived a snake using mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Dramatic footage shows wildlife rescuer Yash Tadvi performing CPR on the checkered keelback in Vadodara, Gujarat, on October 16.

He carefully grasped the non-venomous snake's neck, opened its mouth, and began pumping air into it, administering CPR for about three minutes.

Tadvi remained optimistic despite his first two attempts being unsuccessful. On the third try, the serpent moved and regained consciousness.

After the successful revival, the reptile was reportedly handed to the local forest department for further care and rehabilitation.

The checkered keelback, also known as Xenochrophis piscator, is a non-venomous snake in South and Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive checkered pattern of dark and light scales.

These snakes typically inhabit freshwater environments, such as rivers, ponds, and marshes, and primarily feed on fish, amphibians, and small invertebrates. Generally non-aggressive, they may display defensive behavior when threatened.
