A sudden and severe flood has overwhelmed the region at kilometer 36 on the CA-09-SUR highway in the Sector el Cafetal of Amatitlan, Guatemala. Emergency services are on high alert as the deluge has transformed roadways into rivers, stranding vehicles and posing significant risks to local residents.
The inundation, which caught many by surprise, has led to immediate traffic disruptions and calls for rescue operations for those trapped by the rising waters. Authorities have yet to provide a full assessment of the damage, but initial reports suggest extensive impact to infrastructure and personal property.
