US, Los Angeles: Downtown Los Angeles 2 Year Old Transported After Hit and Run Collision

10/20/2024 10:18 pm (GMT-0700) | DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES – LAFD and LAPD Central units responded to a reported two-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of 6th and San Pedro Streets.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they located a black Tesla sedan that had crashed into a construction area and a gray Volkswagen sedan with moderate damage in the middle of the intersection.
A grandmother and her toddler granddaughter, approximately two years old, were in the Volkswagen.
The two were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to Margaret Stewart, a spokesperson for the LAFD. One additional patient was assessed by LAFD paramedics at the scene but declined transport.
The driver of the Tesla fled the scene.
No further information was immediately available.
