Stray dog 'stuck' on top of monument roof baffles locals
A stray dog that appeared stuck on top of a monument baffled tourists in the Philippines.
Footage shows the pooch wandering on the edge of the Temple of Leah, estimated to be at least 50ft (15.2 metres) high, in Cebu City on October 13.
The white canine watched the visitors as it was seemingly trapped on the canopy of the Greco-Roman-style building.
One of the worried onlookers, Patricia Fedalgo, said: 'We saw the dog during our tour. We thought it was stuck because we did not see any stairs going up.'
However, Patricia added that a caretaker told them there was a staircase at the back leading up to a bunkhouse when they asked for help rescuing the dog.
She said: 'The architecture was so well thought of. The staircase was concealed.'
The Temple of Leah in Cebu is a large shrine built by local businessman Teodorico Adarna to honour his late wife Leah. It has statues and big columns and offers a great view of the city, making it a popular tourist spot.
Earlier this month, a paraglider spotted a dog on top of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Footage captured by Alex Lang shows him noticing the pooch wandering along the highest point of the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the World.
He zoomed in on the animal as he approached the landmark. The dog can be seen beaming at it in Egypt on October 14.
Local media reported that the paramotorist saw the canine barking at birds. It is not know how or when the dog managed to climb back down again.
