Bulgaria: "Give peace a chance" procession in Sofia
Sofia, Bulgaria - October 21, 2024
In Sofia and seven other cities was held a march with the slogan "Give peace a chance". The march is organized by the pro-Russian political party „Vazrajdane”, which used the theme of the wars (Ukraine and the Middle East) for the upcoming parliamentary elections on Sunday.
The organizers claim that they are the only party in Bulgaria that is for peace. The leader of "Vazrajdane" Kostadin Kostadinov called on all Bulgarians to vote on Sunday, because it is a choice between war and peace. According to a sociological survey from this week, "Vazrajdane" will be the second largest party in the next parliament.
Representatives of various Arab countries took part in the protest, waving the flags of Lebanon and Palestine and expressing sympathy with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.
The procession started from the National palace of culture, passed through the central streets of the Bulgarian capital to reach the monument to the unknown warrior, where sympathizers of "Vazrazhdane" knelt in memory of the innocent victims of the wars - in Ukraine and the Middle East.
