Pensioner rescued from Tropical Storm Trami in the Philippines
An elderly woman was rescued from Tropical Storm Trami floods in the Philippines.
Footage shows personnel draping a raincoat over the pensioner before carrying her out of her home in an urban poor settlement in Naga City, Camarines Sur, on October 22 afternoon.
She was taken to an evacuation centre along with thousands of other residents affected by the storm.
Trami, known locally as Kristine, intensified into a tropical storm as it churned over the Philippine Sea on October 22.
Philippine weather agency PAGASA said in its 5am bulletin today that the storm was moving west-northwest at 15 miles per hour, with maximum sustained winds of 53 miles per hour and gustiness of up to 65 miles per hour.
Thousands of villagers in northeastern provinces have fled to evacuation shelters as storm warnings were raised across 26 provinces in the country.
It was expected to make landfall in the Philippines on Wednesday or Thursday.
