Chubby woman hilariously fails to squeeze into tiny aeroplane seat
A chubby passenger hilariously failed to squeeze into a tiny aeroplane seat.
The female flier was assigned the middle chair on a Nok Air flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok but she struggled to fit her bottom onto the surface before take off on October 20.
Footage shows the passenger, Ann, smiling while pushing herself down the chair but her hips were too wide and she was wedged between the armrests of the Boeing 737.
She moved to the seat beside the aisle on her left hoping there was more space to accommodate her figure but to no avail.
Ann says in the video: 'I can't get up. Why is it so small? All seats aren't like that.'
One of her friends, Tawan Jirasak, asked an air hostess why she could not get into the seat. But they were unable to provide an explanation.
When the captain started speaking, the woman returned to her original spot and settled uncomfortably. She strapped the safety belt across her tummy but it too far too short and tight for her.
Tawan added: 'It was Nok Air's fault, not the seat. We had such a bad experience. Even the crew appeared to be making fun of her instead of helping, she said that seat was the biggest they have.
'My friend is not obese, she's hardly overweight, but these seats were much too small. Thankfully she found it funny and was not offended.'
The passenger returned to her originally assigned seat and endured an inconvenient hour-long flight.
The seating capacity of a Boeing 737 can vary based on the airline's layout and configuration. Airlines that prioritise maximising capacity may cram in more seats, although they must still adhere to safety regulations set by aviation authorities.
These regulations dictate how seats are installed, the minimum space that must be maintained for safety, and the number of exits required for evacuation.
