On the morning of October 22 in Fuzhou, Fujian, the sky displayed a distinct division: one half was cloudy, and the other half was clear blue.

This phenomenon is known in meteorology as "systemic invasive altocumulus," also called "blanket clouds." It occurs when there is a significant difference in moisture content on either side of the sky.

Meteorologists explain that this rare climate event results from a clash between a front of dry, cold air bringing clear skies and a front of warm, moist air leading clouds. In simple terms, the half-clear, half-cloudy sky is a visual representation of the "tug-of-war" between cold and warm air, signaling that the weather is about to change.
