This is the moment Tampa firefighters respond to a late-night blaze after a fire engulfed a townhouse in Florida.

The footage shows the firefighters working the scene as the blaze guts the house.

The images were obtained from the Tampa Fire Department on Monday, 21st October, along with a statement saying: "Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at the 3000 block of W. Santiago St. at approximately 11:53pm on 10/20/24.

"First arriving crews found a two-story townhouse duplex with heavy smoke and flames visible from the rear of the structure.

"Firefighters made entry into the primary structure and started an interior attack on the fire while completing a primary and secondary search with no occupants in the structure.

"Due to the rapidly deteriorating change in fire conditions, crews were removed from the structure and transitioned to a defensive and aerial attack."

The statement continued: "A second alarm response was declared for additional resources due to flames spreading to the adjacent house. A primary and secondary search was completed in the second home with no occupants in the structure."

The statement also said that the files were under control in under an hour and that there were no injuries to either firefighters or civilians at the scene.

The firefighters added that the American Red Cross was contacted to render assistance to the families who were evacuated from their homes.

The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
