This is the moment a pensioner received a dose of instant karma when she tried to kick a puppy - only to fall over herself.

Footage shows the elderly woman, reportedly in her 80s, attempting to strike the pooch with her foot while on an evening walk in Shandong, China, on October 17.

It is unclear why she disliked the small canine lying on the path as she approached with her hands behind her back.

But the dog appeared to sense something was amiss and became suspicious of the slow-moving woman. When she believed the dog was not paying attention, she suddenly tried to kick it.

The dog rushed off, and the woman fell over, sustaining suffering minor bruises. She later sought compensation from the puppy's owner by claiming it had attacked her.

But her claim was rejected when the CCTV video evidence emerged.
