In a dramatic display of precision and power, SpaceX launched 23 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit on October 23, marking the company's 100th Falcon 9 mission of 2024. The evening launch from Florida's Space Coast faced a one-day weather delay but lifted off smoothly, delivering yet another boost to the ever-expanding Starlink broadband network.
The Falcon 9 rocket, topped with the 23 spacecraft, surged into the sky from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, while the first-stage booster—on its 18th journey and 13th Starlink mission—nailed a textbook landing on the drone ship "A Shortfall of Gravitas" in the Atlantic Ocean, eight minutes post-launch.
With over two-thirds of SpaceX's missions this year devoted to Starlink, the megaconstellation continues to swell, reinforcing the company’s dominance in satellite internet services and reshaping the future of global connectivity.
