A heartbreaking search has come to a grim conclusion as two charred bodies were discovered among the wreckage of an ultralight aircraft that disappeared on October 18.

The pilot and his female companion, both approximately 60 years old, were found at the site of the crash, located on the summit of Navalperal, between Orcera and Siles in Jaen. The aircraft had taken off from the Totana aerodrome in Murcia, en route to Beas de Segura in Jaen.

The Madrid Coordination and Rescue Center confirmed to emergency services that the bodies of the two occupants were located around 12:50 p.m. local time, following an extensive search operation. The last communication with the aircraft occurred around 9:30 a.m. on October 18, when it was reported to be near Santiago de La Espada-Pontones, amidst foggy conditions.

The Guardia Civil revealed that the wreckage was discovered by private individuals who joined the search efforts. The crash site is situated close to the provincial border with Albacete.

Since Friday, the Guardia Civil has maintained a special search operation involving both ground and air resources, working closely with the Air Rescue Service of the Spanish Air Force. Currently, specialized rescue teams from the Guardia Civil are engaged in recovering the bodies.
