This is the terrifying moment a tree that had been weakened by heavy rain collapsed onto a restaurant during a storm in Thailand.

The massive tree fell onto the roof of Xing Xing Shabu and Grill in Bangkok on October 24.

CCTV footage shows employees cleaning the area. Upon noticing the tree plunging towards them, they quickly ran to safety.

No one was reportedly injured in the incident, although some furniture was damaged.

The owner of the establishment said: 'We are fortunate that we dodged the tree.'

Thailand and its neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are currently experiencing their annual monsoon season, which brings soaring temperatures followed by powerful afternoon rainstorms and strong gusts of wind, leading to widespread flash floods.
