Romania: Lux BMW Rams Lamborghini In Alleged Staged Accident To Claim Insurance
Cluj County, Romania - September 8, 2024
This is the moment a BMW collides with a Lamborghini in what is alleged to have been a staged accident to claim insurance.
The footage shows the two luxury cars colliding, reportedly in an attempt to defraud insurers in Cluj, north-western Romania, on Sunday, 8th September.
Investigators initiated the case after reviewing public footage of the crash, which involved a BMW and a Lamborghini valued at EUR 100,000. Officers from Cluj's Criminal Investigation Service, alongside the Cluj-Napoca Traffic Bureau, conducted 11 house searches and three people in connection with the case on 21st October. The trio, whose identities were not revealed, have been charged with insurance fraud, attempted fraud, and making false statements. The authorities suspect that the accident was premeditated to claim payouts from RCA and CASCO insurance policies.
