This heartwarming moment shows locals rescuing an injured turtle found on a beach.

Residents discovered the 70kg weakened reptile lying on the shore, around 30 meters from the sea, at Tong Talae Beach in Krabi, Thailand, on October 20.

Footage shows Thongchai Pitukham gently lifting the sea turtle with a loincloth, helping it make its way back to the water.

An onlooker said that after 20 minutes of effort, they successfully guided the animal to safety.

The Hawksbill turtle is a protected species under Thailand's Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act, which prohibits the hunting, capturing, killing, or trading of these animals without proper authorization.
