A distressed man was rescued from an electricity pylon in India.

Footage shows Madhusudan Biswas, 40, on a high-voltage electrical pole in Delhi's Yamuna Khadar neighbourhood on Wednesday, October 23.

The Delhi Fire Service successfully saved him, as he was reportedly struggling with mental health problems.

Local media reported that Madhusudan was frustrated over the alleged lack of action on environmental issues. He insisted he would come down only if he was allowed to meet the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, Defence Minister, and a judge.

An officer said: 'The man, Madhusudan Biswas, is a resident of North 24 Parganas in West Bengal. He claimed to be an environmental activist and a teacher, and said he has sent multiple emails to government officials demanding action on environmental issues but received no response.'

After the authorities persuaded him to come down, Madhusudan was taken into custody for further inquiry.
