The Bangladeshi health authority confirmed seven deaths in the 24 hours until Wednesday morning, bringing the total number of dengue-related fatalities in the country to 264 this year.

As of Wednesday, the total number of confirmed dengue cases in Bangladesh had reached 53,196.

Dengue fever, a viral disease transmitted through the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes, causes acute illness with symptoms including headache, high fever, fatigue, severe muscle and joint pain, swollen glands, vomiting, and rash.
