US: Helicopter Crew Executes Daring Cliffside Rescue at Shelter Cove
Shelter Cove, United States - October 23, 2024
On the night of October 23, a dramatic rescue operation unfolded as H-30 was called in by the North County Fire Authority to save a man stranded on the cliffs at the south end of Shelter Cove. Guided by GPS coordinates, the helicopter crew quickly located the trapped individual and confirmed a rescue was possible.
In a bold move, H-30 performed a one skid/hover maneuver to deploy a CHP medic, who found the man uninjured. The stranded person was then safely loaded into the helicopter and flown to emergency responders waiting at the command post. The crew returned to pick up their medic, successfully concluding the high-stakes mission.
