Police raided a shop selling fake football shirts of Premier League teams.

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) descended on seven locations to confiscate the counterfeit jerseys - many of them reproductions of iconic retro strips - in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 25.

DSI director-general Police Major Yutthana Praedam said the officers were dispatched to serve seven arrest warrants issued by the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court.

He said: 'These locations are large distribution centers, illegally storing goods that infringe on intellectual property rights, and are the largest online distribution center in Thailand. Brand representatives also joined the operation.'

The search found hauls of fake products from several luxury brands, including Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, Burberry, and Polo.

Authorities also discovered fake football and sports jerseys from clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Newcastle United, violating trademarks of Nike, Adidas, and Puma.

There were an estimated 120,000 items confiscated, with damages believed to exceed 60 million THB (1.37 million GBP).

Police said the storeowners involved will be charged for violating the Trademark Act.
