On October 27 in Huizhou, Guangdong, a man was transporting a refrigerator into an elevator when the power cord got caught in the elevator doors. As the elevator began moving, the trapped cord caused the refrigerator to lose balance and topple backward, striking a passenger behind it. Security footage shows the refrigerator falling directly onto a woman holding a baby, narrowly missing the child. Fortunately, the woman reacted quickly, using her body to shield her baby and lessen the impact.

Following the accident, passengers pressed the emergency button, halting the elevator. Rescue personnel soon arrived, freeing the trapped occupants and escorting them to the hospital for evaluation.

The woman, Ms. Guan, reported only minor injuries, and her baby and older daughter were unharmed after medical checks. The man transporting the refrigerator ultimately compensated Ms. Guan for her medical expenses.
