Abrupt chaos as wild boar charges into luxury Chinese hotel pursued by police
On October 27, in Nanjing, Jiangsu, a four-star hotel near Xuanwu Lake received an unexpected "guest"—a wild boar.
According to hotel staff, the wild boar wandered into the hotel lobby early in the morning. Clearly uneasy in a human environment, the boar began dashing around the lobby in a panic, seeking a way out. It appeared particularly confused by the revolving and glass doors, even slipping and bumping into the door frame, creating a chaotic scene.
Hotel staff quickly called the police for assistance. Officers and security arrived promptly, and after some effort, they safely subdued the boar and removed it from the hotel without incident.
This is not an isolated case. Wild boars have increasingly been spotted wandering into urban areas in Nanjing, even appearing in tea shops, university campuses, and residential complexes. This has led some locals to jokingly nickname Nanjing the "City of Wild Boars." Experts suggest that these incidents may be related to urban expansion and changes in the natural environment.
Experts advise that if people encounter wild animals like boars, they should remain calm and avoid any actions that might provoke the animal. The safest course is to call authorities and allow professionals to handle the situation.
