Bus driver saves father and child stranded in their car on flooded road
This is the heroic moment a bus driver saves a father and his child stranded in their car on a flooded road.
Footage shows the bus driver pulling up next to the stranded vehicle in Siena, Tuscany, Italy, shortly before 8 pm on October 17.
He opens the doors of his bus right next to the car, which appears to have had its engine flooded by the rising waters.
The son then climbed down the back left window of the car and was pulled to safety by the 37-year-old bus driver Giuseppe Cangialosi. The father then exits the car and is helped onto the Autolinee Toscana bus.
CCTV footage concludes with the father appearing to thank the bus driver for saving him and his son.
Local media reported that the rescue occurred after a huge storm hit Siena on the afternoon of October 17, flooding the Po River in Piedmont.
The bus company said: 'The bus then continued its journey, carrying the father and son to safety, in addition to the other passengers already on board.'
The head of the bus company praised the driver.
Gianni Bechelli said: 'Our driver deserves the company's praise right now for his promptness and ability to intervene in a risky situation.'
He added: 'This gesture shows how drivers know how to intervene, are trained to do so, and how much humanity can be found on board a bus.'
