This is the amusing moment Filipinos held a colourful street festival.

Lively performers clad in cultural costumes danced in rows during the annual Kasanggayahan Festival in Sorsogon, the Philippines, on October 16.

Footage captured by Angela Daet shows the group moving synchronously to the beat of the drums while cheering, resembling a moving caterpillar.

The group decided to perform the Sinulog dance for the festival's dance showdown.

The filmer said: 'Since it's my first time witnessing the Sinulog Festival, I didn't expect it to be such an amazing and jaw-dropping experience. It's my first, and I'm looking forward to more in the future.'

Locals celebrate the Sinulog Festival every year to mark the arrival and spread of Christianity in the country, symbolized by the Santo Nino.

Spaniards brought Catholicism to the Philippines when they colonized the islands during the 16th century, where they ruled for more than 300 years. Wars between the colonizers and the Filipinos resulted in more than 600,000 casualties.
