Wild leopard ambles across highway in India at night
A wild leopard ambled across a highway in India at night.
Locals spotted the animal as they passed by the motorway in Hyderabad, Telangana.
Footage shows the feline walking along the road towards a forest.
Rohit Goppidi, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of the Amrabad Tiger Reserve, said that animals often cross roads, especially at night, due to the area's rich biodiversity.
'As a result, unexpected encounters with wildlife can occur. We advise drivers to exercise caution when traveling on roadways adjacent to forests,' he added.
Local reports indicate that leopards have been attacking and killing individuals in the country. Statistics estimate there have been 551 deaths from leopard and tiger attacks over a span of 20 years.
