Los Angeles, United States - October 28, 2024

10/28/2024 04:15 am (GMT-0700) | DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES – Around 4:15 a.m., LAFD responded to a structure fire in the 500 block of East 9th Street in Downtown LA's Fashion District.
Arriving LAFD crews found a large, one-story commercial building with a "false" second story, with heavy fire in at least three units. One unit contained furniture and two units with large quantities of rolled textile storage.
The fire triggered a massive response from LAFD as they battled to extinguish the Greater Alarm fire with 98 firefighters at the scene.
Shortly after 5:30 a.m., firefighters extinguished the bulk of the fire, but an active fire remained within the heavy fire load of textiles and furniture in the units, the LAFD reported.
The remaining fire was accessed after heavy equipment operators removed debris.
The source of the fire is unknown at this time.
